Reverend Timothy Espar
A native of Detroit, Pastor Tim Espar comes to Van Wyck from the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference where he served in pastoral ministry for nine years. He holds degrees from New Brunswick Theological Seminary, Rutgers University and Eastern Michigan University. Tim spent 25 years as a faculty member and administrator at Rutgers, retiring in 2015. He and his wife Becky (a proud alumna of Auburn U.) celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary in June, the same day they moved into their house in Sun City. Becky was an elementary school teacher and now is an educational consultant for a children’s book publisher. They have a daughter and two grandchildren in Houston, Texas.
Pastor Tim and Becky look forward to their new ministry and getting to know everyone at Van Wyck. He will also be serving at the Church of the Good Shepherd UMC in Lancaster. Feel free to contact him for any pastoral needs you may have.
